The Essential Spring Break Packing (and Shopping!) List

Spring Break Shopping List

The month of March is here, and that can only mean one thing: Spring Break is upon us! Whether you’re planning a weekend blowout at one of the more popular destinations (think Daytona Beach) or you’re going a little off the beaten path to get some much-needed R&R, you’re going to need to shop for some Spring Break essentials for your trip. Below is a list of eight must-have items you can find at Tri-County Mall that you’ll need to pack in order to be fully equipped for your Spring Break getaway.

  1. Sunglasses

Without shades, your Spring Break will be a constant squint-fest. You can go for a printed pattern, or rock a sleek monochrome look. Word to the wise: Go for some inexpensive shades, and leave the Ray Ban Aviators for the special outings. With all of the sand, sunscreen and potential to get lost, dropped or accidentally stepped on, it’s not worth the risk to bring your pricey sunglasses to an active day at the beach.

  1. Headphones

You never know when you might hit a snag in your travel plans, so a pair of headphones (along with your iPod or smartphone) can come in handy when you need to pass the time listening to some tunes.

  1. Flip-Flops and Sandals

It goes without saying that your feet will need plenty of breathing room when you’re out and about on your Spring Break getaway. Try packing a comfortable pair of wedge sandals that you can wear with multiple outfits, and don’t forget the flip-flops–they take up virtually zero space in your suitcase, and they’re super-convenient for those times when you just want to throw some shoes on and get going.

  1. A Crossbody Bag

Crossbody bags are the perfect size for traveling, sightseeing or going out on the town at night. With this compact and ultra-convenient accessory, you won’t have to worry about lugging a huge bag on your shoulder all day, and you’ll have all of your handbag essentials easily within reach whenever you need them.

  1. Swimwear

If you’re heading out on a warm weather getaway, you have to pack some swimsuits for hanging out on the beach, taking a dip in the pool, cruising on a boat, or any other activity where skin and sun are the only dress code. Make sure to bring a printed two-piece for those fun beach outings, and a chic one-piece for those times when you would rather sit under a huge umbrella and sip on a pina colada.

  1. A Nice Big Floppy Hat

A big, floppy hat can really come in handy on those days when the sunshine is really intense. Keep in mind that too much exposure to sunlight can cause skin damage, so protect your head with a nice floppy hat that will not only provide protection from the sun’s relentless rays, but also complement your spring-inspired outfit.

  1. A Sundress

The versatility of an elegant sundress really can’t be beat; you can wear it while you’re making your “touristy” rounds at your vacation spot, and it can double as the perfect cover-up for your swimsuit when needed.

  1. Sunscreen, Lip Balm, Etc.

Protect your skin from those unruly UV rays! Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, lip balm, aloe vera gel, etc., to keep your skin healthy and damage-free.
